Livingston, Montana is nestled on the backs of the Yellowstone River and home to Got Trout Outfitters. Because we are perfectly situated in the heart of trout country, GTO offers a variety fishing opportunities that few others can. Come, float the mighty Yellowstone River, wade the world famous spring creeks of Paradise Valley and spend the day fishing cutthroat trout within sight of bison and elk in Yellowstone National Park.

What makes Got Trout Outfitters different from some other guiding operations in Montana is that you deal directly with “the boss.” We’ve kept our operation small so that each trip is tailor-made by GTO owner, outfitter and guide Peter Vandergrift. Peter has been guiding fly fisherman for 16 years and has a pool of very experienced guides to pair with fisherman. At GTO we pride ourselves in teaching the art of fly fishing through patient tutelage and friendly advice. It's about having a positive experience on the river and catching fish, not being belittled by your guide.

Got Trout Outfitters is a fly fishing, catch and release only operation. With Montana rivers being the last bastion of naturally reproducing trout in the country, we try to release all our fish unharmed to continue to populate these wonderful rivers. Pictures of your catch and lifelong memories are what you will take home.

GTO guides are used to all level of anglers from someone who has never picked up a rod before to fisherman who travel to the corners of the earth looking for fly roding adventure.
